PYRO Membership Application

Welcome to PYRO. We are excited about your interest in becoming a member. This step-by-step guide is intended to expedite your application process. Please feel free to consult with the membership chairpersons at any time during this process

What to expect - Application for PYRO membership is a two-step process:

  1. An initial application is submitted for review according to the guidelines herein.
  2. Upon approval of the initial application, an invitation for an interview is extended to the applicant. (An informal 20 minute dialogue with PYRO members)
    Members vote on your application following your interview and you will be notified of the results in a timely manner.

 Required Materials:

  • JPEG  images of no more than 10 pieces of your work  created in the past two years (Do not include more than 10 pieces of work, but you may include images of details.)
  • A separate document cataloging images by filename, title, size, & media.
  • A written statement indicating how your membership could be mutually beneficial to  PYRO.
  • A Curriculum Vitae
  • An artist’s statement

Submitting Your Materials:

Accepted digital formats:

Images: JPEG  only. (.jpg only)
Text: PDF or MS Word (.pdf .doc or .txt only)

Word Documents must be text only. PowerPoints and
images inserted in Word documents are not accepted.

Minimum JPG image file size: 

Largest dimension, (Height or width) must be at least 800 pixels.

Maximum JPG image file size:

Height or width must be no larger than 1600 pixels.

Accepted modes of submission:

Media: CD, DVD, or USB flashdrive. Deliver media to:

(media will be returned to the applicant if self-addressed
return packaging is included) Pyro accepts no responsibility
for lost or damaged media.  

Digital transmission: Submissions are accepted via the
PYRO FTP site, or as shared documents and albums on
a Google account owned by PYRO or the applicant.

Materials submitted as e-mail attachments will not be accepted. Instructions and logins for digital transmission via FTP or Google accounts are as follows:

Google: 

  1. Go to www.gmail.com and login as: pyro.guest 
  2. (password guest1234)
  3. Follow the steps to upload a new album.
  4. Title Your album with your last name.

FTP:

  1. Hostname: ftp.pyrogallery.com
  2. Username: dropbox@pyrogallery.com
  3. Connect using: FTP
  4. Password: pyrogallery

PYRO General Membership

PYRO is a cooperative gallery, which means that members have defined privileges and responsibilities.  

Some of the privileges of PYRO membership include: 

  • Participation in a solo show once every 24 months 
  • Participation in all group shows 
  • Exhibition of work on a regular basis in the inventory galleries 
  • Attendance at monthly members meetings 
  • Participation on committees or holding an office 
  • Discussion and voting privileges on all issues regarding PYRO’s operation 
  • Involvement in first Friday Gallery Hop and opening receptions for PYRO exhibitions 
  • Exposure to many other arts’ community-related activities. 

Member responsibilities include: 

  • Monthly dues of $120.00 
  • Working two shifts a month during regular gallery hours 
    Thursday, Sunday: 11-3
    Friday, Saturday, 11-2:30 or 2:30-6
    First Friday 5-7 or 7-9pm. 
  • A commission scale of 70% to the artist and 30% to PYRO for work sold at the gallery. For private or studio sales within the 75 mile exclusivity area, the commission scale is 90% to the artist and 10% to PYRO 
  • Paying for printing of show announcement cards (solo shows or a portion of group shows, while PYRO pays for postage up to a certain amount. 
  • Helping to maintain gallery

 


 

PYRO Associate Membership

PYRO is a co-operative gallery, which means that members have defined privileges and responsibilities. PYRO accepts applications for associate membership from talented, emerging artists under the age of 30  

Some of the privileges of associate membership include: 

  • Participation in an annual group show
  • Participation in all group shows 
  • Exhibition of work on a regular basis in the member galleries 
  • Non-voting attendance at monthly members meetings
  • Participation on committees or alternate select duties 
  • Involvement in first Friday Gallery Hop and opening 
  • receptions for PYRO exhibitions 
  • Exposure to many other arts’ community-related activities 
  • Presence on PYRO website

Associate Member responsibilities include: 

  • Monthly dues of $25.00 
  • Working one shift per month during regular gallery hours 
  • (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, 11-2:30 or 2:30-6) or on First Friday (5-7 or 7-9pm) 
  •  A commission scale of 70% to the artist and 30% to PYRO 
  • for work sold at the gallery.  For private or studio sales
  • within the 75 mile exclusivity area, the commission scale is 
  • 90% to the artist and 10% to PYRO 
  • Paying for printing of show announcement cards 
  • Helping to maintain gallery
